Dear City of Tirat Carmel 2025 - Haifa News Corporation and the Haifa Area

The City of Tirat Carmel is honoring three philanthropists for their significant contributions to the community during a special ceremony in March 2025. The award is aimed at recognizing individuals who have dedicated their time and efforts to improve the lives of residents in Tirat Carmel, showcasing a diverse fabric of the community.

Among the honorees is Tigev Gebo, a woman of Ethiopian heritage who immigrated to Israel at 17 during Operation Solomon. She has been a pillar in the community, often providing assistance to the elderly and families in need, cooking meals, and helping women integrate into society. Her modest approach to life and dedication to volunteerism have inspired many within Tirat Carmel, making her a role model in the community.


Born in Ethiopia in 1954, she immigrated to Israel as part of Operation Solomon when she was 17 and has lived in Tirat Carmel ever since
